Racial disparities in the criminal justice system are pervasive and staggering, and we are not immune to it in our own courts. This program will explore the ways in which Advocates and Defenders can help mitigate the effects of racial bias on our clients throughout the system.

IMMIGRATION SEMINAR

May 9, 2017 at UConn School of Law, Hartford - 2pm - 5pm

The Worker and Immigration Rights Advocacy Clinic at Yale has agreed to present a program for defenders representing non-citizen clients in criminal court. This program will cover immigration detainers, ICE at the courts/probation, warnings to clients, and will include a roll out of the updated Immigration Consequences Guide.
